An Impressive Horse Show
An Impressive Horse Show
To the Editor:
Congratulations to the Second Company, Governorâs Horse Guard for a wonderful Annual Horse Show, held Sunday.
I was impressed with how well organized the show was laid out. But then, they are military, arenât they? I got there at noon and headed right for the âFood and Beverages Tent.â The food and the service were excellent. A unique service was transport by golf carts, which I heard were donated, for any one who needed assistance.
This was, I believe, their third annual horse show. What a wonderful setting and a marvelous opportunity for children and youth to show off their horsemanship in many events. To grow and develop they need many competitive shows like this one to hone their skills.
This horse show, held on the Fairfield Hills campus, is worthy of everyoneâs support. The proceeds of the event go to support their charitable programs. The one that, I think, makes a great contribution to the lives of those who benefit, is the therapeutic riding program, called Saddle-Up For Life. It is a âhighly supervised riding program for people from Southbury Training School and Ability Beyond Disability.â
I am not a horse owner, and I do not ride. Neither am I affiliated with the Second Company, Governorsâ Horse Guard. But I do love horses and I can recognize organizations that excel in community spirit and enterprise.
I plan to continue my support for the next horse show they put on.
Sincerely,
Paul G. Littlefield
