The Animal Center Says Thanks
The Animal Center Says Thanks
To the Editor:
The Animal Center would like to thank the many generous residents of Newtown who responded to the centerâs recent inaugural fundraising campaign. Donations from Newtown residents have already allowed the center to help more than 50 cats and kittens in this community in our first few months of operations, including kittens like Charlie and Paddy, who were found weak and dehydrated in an abandoned shed when they were 6 weeks old.
Thanks to the support of our community, the veterinarians who work with our Operation FELIX program and our tireless volunteers, Charlie and Paddy were given the medical care they needed, brought into foster care until recovery, and today are healthy, happy kittens, thriving in loving homes in Newtown.
We would also like to thank Paws on Main in Monroe for hosting our recent adoption events in celebration of National Shelter Cat Month, which brought together more than a dozen orphaned kittens with loving families in June. The Animal Center will be back at Paws on Main with cats and kittens for adoption the first Saturday of each month, beginning in August.
We look forward to helping more animals find happy homes in the months and years ahead, and to becoming a familiar face to those in the Newtown area interested in animals. For more information about the center, please visit www.theanimalcenter.org.
Sincerely, Monica Roberto
