BRIDGEPORT — Newtown Youth & Family Services (NYFS) will benefit from a fundraiser at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, featuring the United Soccer League’s (USL) New York Red Bull II facing Newtown Pride FC of the Connecticut Soccer League (CSL), on Thursday, July 30, at 7:30 pm.

Tickets vary in price, starting at $12, with group and family discounts available. Those interested in purchasing tickets may do so by visiting newtownyouthandfamilyservices.org.

Matt Ariniello, operations, development and partnership for success grant coordinator for NYFS, said this week that tickets for the game are still available.

“It’s going to be a great night for everyone,” Mr Ariniello said July 28.

All net proceeds from the event, including ticket sales and proceeds from a silent auction held that evening, will go to NYFS.

The evening will kick off at 6:30, outside the ballpark, with an interactive fun zone. All ages are welcome to join in the fun.

“We have a bunch of radio stations that will be there, playing music,” Mr Ariniello said. “We’ll be having contests, and give-aways with T-shirts and prizes.

“We will also have a meet and greet with some of the players,” he added.

The silent auction, he said, will feature Major League Soccer (MLS) items including scarves, a game ball and novelty items, an Adidas watch, and assorted gift cards.

“We’ll also have four tickets and VIP parking to a Red Sox game,” a package worth $440, according to Mr Ariniello.

Tickets for the game can be purchased at the ballpark, 500 Main Street.

For more than 30 years, NYFS has been providing mental health and community support services to the greater Newtown area. NYFS continues to provide after school activities, support groups, social groups for children with autism spectrum disorder, and programs for preschool, youth, and teens, as well as provide financial assistance for counseling to children and families.
