Mark Tourigny
Mark Tourigny, age 54, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, July 29, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 1, 1971, in Norwalk to Bruce and Elaine Tourigny.
He grew up in Norwalk where he spent his summers out on Long Island Sound, boating and fishing.
Mark graduated from Norwalk High School. He attended Norwalk Community College, then joined the Air Force and attended Fairfield University while in the Air Force Reserves. During this time he became active duty as a result of September 11, 2001. He participated in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Noble Eagle. He earned his Bachelors of Science with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
Mark spent the largest part of his career working for his brother at collective design associates as Vice President of the company.
Mark was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting on his property in upstate New York. He loved gardening, and feeding his friends fresh vegetables from the garden, eggs from his chickens, and honey from his bees.
He was a very faithful man, attending Mass weekly. He was a devoted father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. His loyalty, kindness, and care for others was exemplary.
Mark is survived by his loving wife Liz; daughter Bella (Tristan); his brothers Bruce (Trisha) and Keith; his sister Lisa (Craig); and nephews Jacob (Katrina), and Jarrett, Patrik and Kyle.
He was predeceased by his parents Bruce and Elaine Tourigny.
Calling hours will be Sunday August 3, 1-4 pm, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown.
Mass will be held Monday, August 4, at 10:30 am, at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown. Interment to follow in St John Cemetery, 233 Richards Avenue in Norwalk.
