To The Editor:

To all of our volunteers, donors and managers and owners of the local stores — you did it — and we couldn’t be more grateful! On behalf of everyone at The Salvation Army, thank you for lending your time, heart, and energy during our July Red Kettle drive. Your dedication brought joy, hope, and inspiration to our community, one ring at a time. This was our most successful summer collection ever. The funds you helped raise will be managed by the Newtown Social Services Department and shared with students and families in our community.

Because of your cheerful spirit and welcoming smiles, neighbors were encouraged to give generously—and lives were changed. Whether you braved the summer heat or sang out a friendly “thank you,” you spread the message of compassion far and wide. Every hour you devoted helped us raise much-needed support for supplies, shelter, and emergency assistance for those who need it most.

We are so thankful to have amazing support like you! The sound of the bell is more than a symbol—it’s a rallying cry for kindness and hope, fueled by your selfless service. Together, we are making our community stronger every day.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for being the heart and soul of our mission. We can’t wait to ring in more hope with you again in December!

If you are interested in helping out on the local committee or volunteering, please contact Glenn Nanavaty, the local unit President at gnanavaty7746@yahoo.com.

Thank You.
