Please do not park in the designated handicapped spaces, even for a few minutes. The Newtown Police Department will tow cars without a valid handicapped sticker.

Children’s Programs

Summer Reading: It’s not too late to sign up for our summer reading program. More than 500 children are reading books and earning free slices of pizza, Happy Meals, donuts, balloons, and free books. Children ages 4 through grade five may register in the children’s room. The program ends August 12, so don’t miss out!

Middle School Madness: Students entering grades 6-9 can participate in our young adult summer reading program, Middle School Madness. No registration is necessary. Read books through August 12 and submit an entry form for every 50 pages that you read. A list of donated prizes is available in the children’s department. The more you read the better your chances of winning. The drawing will take place after August 12.

Adult Programs

Mark your calendars for the final summer concert. August 18 Treblehook will be returning. The concert will begin at 7 pm. Bring a picnic basket and your lawn chairs, and spend an hour listening to music in the Booth back yard. Should it rain the concert will be moved inside the library.

If you have any questions about any of these programs call the library at 426-4533.
