BUFFALO, New York - Dana Gnerre and Brendan Deveney of Newtown will help represent the state of Connecticut at the Eastern Zone Age Group All-Star Swimming Competition at the State University of New York in Buffalo.
BUFFALO, New York â Dana Gnerre and Brendan Deveney of Newtown will help represent the state of Connecticut at the Eastern Zone Age Group All-Star Swimming Competition at the State University of New York in Buffalo.
The competition will be held Wednesday, August 8, through Saturday, August 11.
Dana, 10, is a fifth-grade student at Middle Gate School and Brendan, 10, is a fifth-grade student at Head Oâ Meadow School. Both swimmers competed this summer for the Newtown Torpedoes and also swim year-round with the Wilton Wahoos.
In Buffalo, Dana will swim in the 50-, 100-, and 200-meter freestyle events as well as the 50-meter backstroke. Brendan will compete in the 50-, 100-, and 200-meter freestyle events as well as the 50- and 100-meter backstroke events and the 200-meter individual medley.
Dana and Brendan will also participate in relay events.
