Voters Did Not Approve A New Town Hall
Voters Did Not Approve
A New Town Hall
To the Editor:
I cannot imagine the Edmond Town Hall not continuing as the heart of Newtownâs administrative offices and activities. The beautiful building sets the tone of Newtown on our very special Main Street.
The master plan as presented by our ten hard working citizens does not reflect the voters wishes to establish new administrative offices. In July 2001, voters approved bond money for the renovation of a building for a town hall ââ not a new town hall building.
Newtown Hall, the original administrative building at Fairfield Hills, has the space and arrangement for our auxiliary of town offices. The master plan committee should readdress this issue.
Citizens should vote No for the present master plan on August 12.
Sincerely,
Caroline J. Stokes
