Do Something That Makes A Difference
Do Something That Makes
A Difference
To the Editor:
All of you people could argue about the war until you were blue in the face, and it wouldnât make a bit of difference. The only result you would see is further division of the people in the United States of America.
If you are feeling so deeply, whether optimistic or realistic, why not focus that energy to the people who would benefit from your passion â all the mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, aunt, uncles, cousins...who are volunteering not only their time, but in most cases their well-being both mentally and physically, and at times, their lives?
There are so many charities you can help â and not just financially. The IAVA, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the nationâs first nonpartisan organization for the troops and veterans, lists many, many charities on its website, www.iava.org., including those the soldiers themselves have organized.
Why not harness that energy regarding the right or wrong of the war, and send over a box of comic books or something to cheer up those who are volunteering their passion to physically fight for our country.
