Enchanted ‘Dream’ By Renowned Cellist

 “More beautiful than the human voice!” is the way Karen Lidman of Heritage Village describes the work by the renowned cellist Thirzah Bendokas.

Ms Bendokas will be offering a special concert on Friday, August 8, at 8 pm, in the open, airy and welcoming sanctuary of Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street. The concert is a benefit for Bob Veillette, a local journalist suffering from “locked-in” syndrome following a massive stroke.

The unusual cello concert will include a varied program that should appeal to all musical tastes. Included in the program will be selections from Ms Bedookas’ premiere CD, including “Amazing Grace,” William Squire’s Tarantella, and a special work from Disney.

Special guest artists, including a pianist, harpist, guitarist and violinist, will enhance the cello. 

A special encore performance will be offered on Sunday, August 10, at 3 pm, at Milford’s Historic Town Hall, 110 River Street in Milford.
