Learn About Native Trees

DERBY — For anyone interested in trees, a relaxing hike on the Osbornedale State Park grounds will be offered Saturday, August 16, from 10 to 11:30 am.

Learn to identify native trees that are found in most backyards and play some games that will make the forest fun. Participants will also make tree creatures using native leaves.

This program is open to all ages, children and adults. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at Kellogg Environmental Center by 10 am. There is no charge, but registration is required by Saturday, August 9; call 734-2513.

Kellogg Environmental Center, a facility of the Department of Environmental Protection, is at 500 Hawthorne Street; signs are posted from Route 34.
