MTM Transportation Bus Aide

Salvatore Lombardo, 60, of Sandy Hook, died unexpectedly July 26 at Danbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Antonina (Gattuso) Lombardo. Mr Lombardo was born in Italy on July 15, 1948, a son of Fillippa (Landolina) Lombardo of Sandy Hook and the late Antonino Lombardo. Mr Lombardo was a resident of Sandy Hook for 30 years.

He was raised and educated in Belgium. Mr Lombardo was a longtime toolmaker for Ambel Precision Manufacturing of Bethel, until his retirement. More recently, he was employed as a bus aide for MTM Transportation of Newtown, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Brookfield.

In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include two daughters, Sally Lombardo of Sandy Hook and Lori Fulton and her husband, Brian, of Plymouth; two brothers, Jacques Lombardo of Sandy Hook and Giuseppe Lombardo of Brookfield; three granddaughters, Stephanie, Jocelyn, and Audry Fulton; two nieces and two nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held July 31 in First Assembly of God Church, Brookfield. Interment followed in Newtown Village Cemetery.
