With the summer halfway over, Newtown Parks & Recreation is pleased at the attendance at this summer’s camps and activities thus far.

According to RoseAnn Reggiano, assistant director of recreation, attendance for this year’s roundup of summer camps have been slightly down when compared to past summer camp participation, but overall, participants have been both plentiful and very happy.

“We’ve received a lot of positive feedback,” Ms Reggiano said, in regard to the summer programs.

According to Ms Reggiano, many people are signed up for remaining programs this summer, so it appears that the rest of the summer will go equally as well.

Interested residents and nonresidents can still sign up for the Dickinson and Treadwell Day Camps. The final session of both camps will run August 5 to August 9.

Additionally, many sports, specialty programs, and lessons are still open. The full listing of summer camps is available at the Town of Newtown website, , then clicking on Parks & Recreation, or by calling the offices at 203-270-4340 for more information.www.newtown-ct.gov
