Sunflowers And Sun Welcomed The Work Week

Plants of all shapes, sizes and colors are coming into bloom and being harvested at the garden, whose bounty helps fill the shelves at FAITH Food Pantry and the Salvation Army Food Pantry at Newtown Social Services.

In the first row just inside the garden's entry, a pair of the popular, sunny flowers demanded attention.

Nearby, small butterflies and bees were also enjoying the weather. Pollinating everything they found, the small animals were enjoying the weather as much as the men, women, and even some dogs who were walking the campus that morning.

Further into the same row, another sunflower was soaking up the sun on Monday.

A bumblebee was among a large group of pollinators hard at work on Monday inside The Victory Garden at Fairfield Hills.
