Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to 27 calls during the period of July 22-28.

There were 14 medical calls, seven trauma calls, and six standby/other calls.

The medical calls included two respiratory, five cardiac, one stroke-related and six miscellaneous medical. There were three vehicular trauma calls and four non-vehicular.

Twenty persons were transported to the hospital; seven were not transported.

The calls involved five youths ages 9 to 21; 11 ages 22 through 60, and 11 over 60 years old. There were 13 males and 14 females.

Three calls were between midnight and 8 am; 16 between 8 am and 4 pm; eight between 4 pm and midnight.
