The 12.14 Foundation will present “Connecticut’s Got Talent!,” a talent competition that will feature performers ranging in age from 6 to 56, “and bring a variety of incredible talent to the stage,” said Allison Koziol, chair of the committee organizing the show. Hosted by and a benefit for The 12.14 Foundation, the show will include solo singers, groups, bands, dancers, even a percussionist and a juggler, Ms Koziol told The Newtown Bee on August 1.

The competition takes place Tuesday, August 5, at 7 pm. It will be in the auditorium of Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road.

General admission tickets will be available at the door for $15.

Four celebrity judges have been lined up for the performance/competition.

Judging on Tuesday will be Krysta Rodrigues, who starred on Broadway as Wednesday Addams in the Addams Family Musical, and on NBC television’s hit show Smash; Milly and Abigail Shapiro — the former won a Tony Award and Grammy nomination for her role as Matilda in Broadway’s Matilda the Musical, and the latter starred as Cindy-Lou Who in Broadway’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas, both can currently be seen in their live show “Live Out Loud” at 54 Below in NYC; and Arnold Mungioli, a casting director, audition coach, career coach, writer, and teacher who has worked in the professional theater, film, television and entertainment industries for over thirty years

Rounding off the celebrity panel will be Rich Minor, of 98Q’s “Rich Minor in The Morning,” who will serve as emcee.

Performers will be competing for prizes including gift certificates for voice/acting/audition prep lessons from NY Grand Opera Messo Soprano and Connecticut native Lucia Palmieri; dance lessons from CT Dance! in Monroe; spa packages, photo shoots, and dinner and dessert from a variety of local businesses.

The public is invited to cheer for some of the area’s most talented people, when The 12.14 Foundation hosts “Connecticut’s Got Talent” on Tuesday, August 5, at Newtown High School.
