Volunteers Needed To Fight Audubon Center Invasives

SOUTHBURY — On Fridays in August, the Audubon Center at Bent of the River Southbury is seeking volunteers between 9 am and 5 pm to help remove rapidly growing invasive plants.

Volunteers should wear a long-sleeve shirt, long pants, and work boots. Work gloves will be supplied. Bring a bottle of water, bug repellent, sunscreen, and your own lunch.

Participants should park at the entrance parking lot and walk to barn.

The Audubon Center at Bent of the River is within the Southbury hamlet of South Britain, off Route 172 at 185 East Flat Hill Road.

Volunteers are always welcome year-round for activities and maintenance.

For information Jim Drennan at JDrennan@audubon.org or 203-264-5098.
