Salvatore C. DeCesare, 89, of Newtown died unexpectedly August 2. Mr DeCesare was the husband of the late Katherine (Buhan) DeCesare. He was born in Bridgeport, on February 26, 1927, a son of the late Louisa (Maribella) and Charles DeCesare.www.heart.org.www.honanfh.com.

He grew up and was educated in Bridgeport. Mr DeCesare served in the US Navy during World War II.

He was employed as an auto parts salesman in the greater Bridgeport area until his retirement.

A resident of Newtown since the 1960s, Mr DeCesare was a founding member of Christ the King Church.

A son, Kurt DeCesare and his wife, Pat, of Newtown; two daughters, Kathy DeCesare Kean Cragin of Newtown and Linda Knox of Torrington; and nine grandchildren survive him. His son Glen DeCesare predeceased him.

A graveside service will take place at the Newtown Village Cemetery, Elm Drive, Friday, August 5, at 11 am. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, on Thursday, August 4, from 6 to 8 pm.
