‘Urinetown’ Extended

NEW MILFORD — Due to popular demand, TheatreWorks New Milford has added two more performances to the run of its smash hit Tony Award-winning musical comedy with the lousy title.

Performances of Urinetown — The Musical has been added for Thursday, August 10, at 8 pm, and Saturday, August 12, at 2 pm

In this family-friendly production, surprises and laughs abound in a comedic story of greed, love and revolution. A depletion of the Earth’s water supply leads to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The “privilege to pee” is regulated by a single, malevolent corporation that forces the poor citizens of the Gotham-like city to pay ever-escalating fees for use of their public restrooms. But among the people, a hero plots a rebellion to lead them all to freedom.

“Demand for tickets has been phenomenal,” said TheatreWorks President Richard Pettibone. “The show has been the fastest selling musical we’ve ever done, and we want to give as many people a chance to see the show before the run sells out.”

Directed by Sharon A. Wilcox, with musical direction by Steven Oliveri and technical direction by Scott Wyshynski, Urinetown — The Musical features some of the area’s finest performers: Paula Anderson, Chris Balestrieve, Jane Coughlin, Glenn Couture, Richard Damaso, Ian Diedrich, Morgan Firestone, Joe Harding, James Hipp, Elyse Jasensky, Matthew Koenig, Keilly Gilen McQuail, Matt McQuail, Joe Morris, Lyle Ressler, Kevin Sturmer, and Samantha Tuozzolo

Urinetown — The Musical run weekends until August 12. Curtain is at 8 pm on Thursday, August 10, as well as on Fridays and Saturdays. Curtain time is at 2 pm on Sunday, August 6, and Saturday, August 12. Tickets are $25 for general admission .

Reservations can be made at TheatreWorks.us or by calling the box office at 860-350-6863.
