Occupation: I have been a nurse at Newtown High School for the past eight years. I love my job, and I feel fortunate to work in the community that I live in. I enjoy the rewarding relationships with both the staff and students at Newtown High School.

Family: My husband Kevin and I will be married 29 years on August 1. We have three adult children. Our oldest, Alexa, and her husband, Addison, just bought a house in Newtown. Our son, Brandon, moved to Austin, Texas, last August for a job opportunity. Our youngest, Danielle, will be a senior at the University of Delaware majoring in environmental studies.

Pets: We have a 13-year-old cockapoo named Zoe who thinks she’s a human!

How long have you lived in Newtown? We moved to Newtown in 1999. My sister and her family moved to Newtown in 2002, and my parents moved to Oxford in 2007. I feel very blessed to have most of my family nearby.

What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time I like to spend time with my family. I love being outside and on the water, so in the summer we enjoy boating on Long Island Sound, kayaking on Lake Zoar, and reading by our pool. In recent years, we’ve started skiing in Vermont during the winter months.

What is your favorite travel destination? I have two destinations that hold a special place in my heart. Growing up, my family vacationed on Cape Cod, and I have many fond memories of those trips from my childhood. As an adult, my family has spent the last 20 years vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, with my parents, sisters, and their families. This annual trip is a treasured tradition for all of us.

What is the best part about Newtown? We have been very happy in Newtown over the past 22 years. I feel fortunate to have raised our children here. I love the people, the sense of community, and the farmland.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? My family has been the greatest influence on my life. My parents showed me what unconditional, sacrificial love looks like, my husband has been my biggest source of support, and my children have taught me more than I ever thought possible when I first became a parent.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? My dad passed away this past January after having lived with Parkinson’s disease for the past ten years. I would love the chance to spend one more day with him.

What is something you cannot live without? I cannot live without my family.

What is your proudest accomplishment? My proudest accomplishment is raising my three children.
