To the Editor:

The Conservative US Supreme Court has already put an end to women’s rights to make choices about their own bodies. Outrageous! But they’re not done yet and we must speak up to stop any further dissolution of personal rights and choices. An upcoming election in Conn. on Aug 9 will determine the candidates for our November election and it’s important to select candidates who support personal freedoms, as well as other important issues.

Check out the State Democratic Party and candidate websites to see their platforms.

Never before in the history of our country have local elections become so important. With Democracy gravely threatened by dishonest attempts to overthrow valid electoral procedures, we must put in place candidates currently up for election who have integrity as well as our best interests at heart.

They are:

Stephanie Thomas — Conn. Secretary of State

Erick Russell — State Treasurer

This is your opportunity to demand what you want!

The Supreme Court countermanded an attempt to ‘legislate from the bench’ by a former court that proclaimed a ‘right’ that did not exist in the Constitution. The Legislative branch (federal and state) is responsible for making laws concerning these issues.
