Charles C. Keller

Charles C. Keller, 88, of Sandy Hook, passed away Wednesday, August 4, at his home. Mr Keller was the beloved husband of Irene (Gregor) Keller. He was born in Hopewell, Virginia, on April 16, 1933, a son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Pfister) Keller.

A resident of Newtown since 1970, Charles was an auto mechanic for many years at area auto dealerships. He retired as a machinist from Bridgeport Machine. Mr Keller served over ten years in the United States Air Force. He was active leader with Boy Scout Troop 470 for many years. Charles was a member of VFW Post 308 and enjoyed rebuilding clocks and watches. He also enjoyed servicing and repairing automobiles.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Lawrence W. Keller of Newtown, Michael C. Keller and his wife, Marian, of Southbury, and David Keller and his wife, Susan, of Stanfield, North Carolina; a daughter, Rose Keller of Sandy Hook; three grandchildren, Melissa Fortier of Bethlehem, Michael L. Keller of Newtown, and Joseph Keller of Southbury; and a great-grandson, Charlie John Keller.

Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Friday, August 6, from 6 to 8 pm.

A graveside committal service with military honors will be held Saturday, August 7, at 11 am in St Rose Cemetery, 20 Cherry Street, Sandy Hook.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470, will be appreciated.
