Family: My wife Domenica, we’ll be married 35 years this September; my daughter Sera, who lives in L.A.; and twin boys, Eric and Ryan, who live here in Newtown.

Do you have any pets? We have four cats. We used to have six. My wife and sons thought it would be a good idea to foster these cats, so we had a mother cat and her five kittens. After two of them got adopted, they couldn’t let any more of them go, so now we have four cats.

How long have you lived in Newtown? Over 20 years. We moved here around 2002.

Work: I’m retired. I used to work in the hedge fund industry, but I’m actually busier now than I was when I was working, keeping up with all the projects around the house. I’m also writing a book, and my wife has a business in New Milford and I help out whenever I’m needed. I also sit on the Legislative Council.

What organizations, clubs and/or communities of faith are you part of? My wife and I attend Grace Family Church. I’m also a co-founder, along with John Zachos, of a very exclusive bourbon and cigar club.

What do you like to do in your free time? My favorite thing in the world to do is fishing. I realized during the last five years that I worked, I didn’t fish once. After I retired, I sold my car, bought a pick-up, bought an RV, and I try to get out there on the lake as often as I can. I love to cook too.

Favorite author? I have two: Clive Cussler and Justin Scott. If you’re lucky enough, you might bump into Justin Scott at Caraluzzi’s every now and then.

What is the most recent book you’ve read? The Wrecker.

Do you have any surprising or unusual talents? I once climbed the flagpole without any arms or legs; when I walk Fairfield Hills, mosquitos don’t bite me out of respect; and a Newtown cop once pulled me over for speeding, and the cop got the ticket. I am Newtown’s Most Interesting Man.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? When I was a kid and I was playing baseball, I was very timid. I’d get up and hope I’d get walked, so I would never swing. A lot of times I would just get struck out. My father told me: “If you’re not gonna do your best, don’t do it at all.” That kind of stuck with me. Another one once came from a boss, who told me: “What gets measured gets done.”

Favorite food? I love Italian food, I love BBQ, and I make a mean eggplant parmesan.

Favorite color? “Blue, no … ahh!” If you’ve watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail, you’d get that. Every time I hear that question, the Bridge of Death scene comes to me.

What is your proudest accomplishment? Raising a family is number one. I also have a Master’s in Music. I studied at Juilliard. I also made it to the chief operating officer and chief compliance officer levels of multi-million dollar hedge funds and I’m pretty proud of that.

What is your favorite thing about Newtown? The people. I’ve made a lot of good friends here. I love seeing the flagpole every day. I love Edmond Town Hall, and walking Fairfield Hills. I love breakfast at Eggs & Co and Bagel Delight. I could go on and on. I’m proud to live here.

Do you have a personal credo? “He who is not busy being born is busy dying.” —Bob Dylan.
