Occupation: I am a holistic coach here in Newtown. I work one-on-one to help busy people to find balance in body, mind, and spirit through diet and lifestyle. I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, in 2012. I do most of my work by phone. If clients are local, I can meet in person, but most of them are too busy.

Family: I have a husband, Jon, and an 11-month-old son, Parker.

Pets: I grew up with all kinds of animals, but right now, we have no pets.

How long have you lived in Newtown? My family moved here 25 years ago, when I was 6 years old. I’ve lived in Nantucket, Paris, Florence, Storrs, and New York City, before I landed back here, about a month after our wedding.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love reading about health and nutrition, and I’m very into yoga. I just discovered stand-up paddle boarding yoga, which is great fun! I do a lot of blogging at my website, www.bewellsimply.com, and I’ve been developing programs like the Farm to Table Yoga. It’s meditating and cooking seasonally, at my parents’ farm, Glenetty. Spending time with my family is great, too.

Do you have a favorite book? I love Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. It’s about taking a closer look at who we are and how our minds work.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? So far, it’s been South Africa. We went there on our honeymoon. We went on safari, visited family friends in Johannesburg, and got to see Cape Town. It was really so eye-opening.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I love Main Street, and the historical homes. I take Parker for walks there. I have a lot of memories there. I grew up dancing at Lathrop’s School of Dance and had dance recitals at the auditorium, and went to the Edmond Town Hall Theatre often. And the General Store is a gem!

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? I’d say my mom, Pam, has been the most influential. She has always encouraged me to be my true self. She always brought me out in nature and taught me about animals and plants, which came to be the things I love. She planted the seeds, so to speak, for those interests. She’s been an endless source of support and love.

Do you have a personal philosophy? I love the saying, “To thine own self be true.” We all have a gift to offer the world; the world is waiting for us. We each need to bring our own genuine self to the world.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? I have a little bit of dark chocolate, every day.
