State Police Chase Starts In Newtown

State police lodged six charges against a Danbury man October 31 following an

incident which started on Exit 11 of Interstate 84.

State police said they observed Peter Richardson, 30, of 11-A Newtown Road,

Danbury, involved in a domestic dispute with his unidentified girlfriend after

which they pulled over Richardson.

Richardson then led state police on chase on I-84 during which he sideswiped a

state police patrol car, causing head, back and neck pain to Trooper Skibeck,

before Richardson was stopped, state police said.

State police charged Richardson with assault on a police officer, kidnapping,

reckless endangerment, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, and

operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.

State police held him on a $25,000 bond for a November 2 appearance in Danbury

Superior Court.
