health organization dedicated to the support of SIDS families, education and

research.

The tournament is being held in memory of Stephanie, the daughter of Donald

and Joycelyn Cavaliere Kowats and sister to Sarah of Swamp Road in Newtown.

Stephanie's grandparents, Don and Carolyn Kowats, and aunt, Laura, are

spear-heading the tournament. Officials torunament supporters Zip Quality

Printing of Stamford, Cavaliere & Sons Building Contractors of Newtown, Wines

Unlimiuted and Robert's Restuarant of Monroe.

The $100 registration fee includes lunch, cart, golf, prizes, raffle and

dinner. Registration and lunch will start at 11 am. Registration forms can be

picked up at the Drug Center on Church Hill Road in Newtown, Shear Image (next

to the Mona Lisa Restuarant), Wines Unlimted at 600 Main Street in Monroe and

Rich Lanigans's Golf Shop in the Clock Tower Plaza in Monroe. Forms must be

returned by September 20.

SIDS is a medical disorder which claims the lives of thousands of young

children (one week and older) each year. Once known as crib death, these

infant deaths remain unexplained after all known causes have been ruled out.

SIDS can occur in families of all races, religions and income levels. It

strikes without warning. Its victims appear to be healthy. Neither parents nor

doctors can tell which babies are at risk.

For more information, call Carolyn Kowats at 426-1132 or 756-4661 (ext 224).
