BMX -- Jim Leebeart (age 7)

When seven-year-old Jim Leebaert started racing BMX this spring his parents

were forewarned not to expect much in his first year. The way they saw it,

though, he was just out there to have fun.

But once the little dirt devil hit the track it quickly became apparent that,

expectations or not, they had better clear a shelf for some trophies.

Little Leebaert's latest conquest, at the BMX track in Trumbull, saw him

capture first place in all three of his motos - beating out a large field to

place first overall in the 7-Beginner Class.

To date, Leebaert is Connecticut's top-ranked BMX racer in his division.
