ON THE ROAD/SHANNON HICKS

A final reminder for anyone holding tickets to the Southern Rock Jam at the

Meadows next week. The Hartford show, which will present performances by

CHARLIE DANIELS BAND, MARSHALL TUCKER BAND and MOLLY HATCHET, was moved back a

day when Shania Twain was recently added to the schedule. Southern Rock Jam

will now be on Tuesday, July 18 . If you show up the following night, the

night the show was originally scheduled for, you will not only be late for the

show but holding tickets for the wrong concert.

The Holiday Inn in Danbury (opposite Bradlees and Marshalls on Route 6) will

have a record and CD convention on Sunday, August 23. The show will run 10 am

to 4 pm, and admission is $3 per person. Early birds can get in as early as 8

o'clock for $20.

In addition to LP and CD dealers, the show will feature a lecture on how indie

artists can get their CDs distributed. Admission to the lecture is $20, which

includes admission to the show, too. Advance registration is requested, but

not required, for the lecture. Call John Godlewski, 973/746-7775, for

information.

THE LAURA COYLE BAND will be in Monroe on Saturday afternoon, making noise for

a live album they're working on. The band is also about to leave for Los

Angeles, so the August 15 performance is the last chance to see Laura and the

rest of the band for a while.

The concert will take place Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 pm, at Harmony

Grange. The grange building is at the intersection of Route 111 and 110 in

Monroe; very easy to find. Admission is $5. For additional information, call

800/923-1762 or visit LauraCoyle.com or EveProductions.com.

Next weekend, Ives Concert Park over at WestConn's westside campus will host

CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVISTED and SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY AND THE ASBURY JUKES on

Saturday, August 22. Tickets for the 7 pm show, which Southside will be

opening, are $30 for reserved seats, $15 for lawn, and $5 for children's lawn

seats. Tickets are available through the Ives' box office (837-9226) or any

TicketMaster outlet.

Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.
