ON THE ROAD FOR SEPTEMBER 19

Just a reminder: Newtown band MIND TYDES will be performing at Tuxedo Junction

this Friday night. The band will be opening for Belly Button, and playing

tracks off its debut CD.

JOHN CAFFERTY hasn't been at Tuxedo Junction for a while now... and he still

isn't on the schedule. But he is returning once again to Toad's Place in New

Haven. A show has been added for October 3, with Scarlet Reign and Christine

Ohlman opening.

Also new at Toad's Place is an October 15 PAUL RODGERS appearance. Rodgers,

formerly (still?) of BAD COMPANY, will play an early show, with The New

Meanies taking the stage before him. In a totally different musical vein,

GOLDFINGER will be in New Haven on October 26; and TESTAMENT, who recently

played in Danbury, will also be at Toad's Place, on December 1. These last two

shows are open to all ages.

Skipping backwards on the calendar, a show by BRAD on October 12 will feature

FEAT in the opening slot. Among the members of Feat is PEARL JAM alumni Stone

Gossard. That's another all-ages show.

This weekend, as part of the Bethel Arts Festival in downtown, well, Bethel

(of course!), part of the musical entertainment going on will be performances

on Saturday and Sunday by OPHELIA HANDBERRY. A Bethel resident herself,

Ophelia performs music that is in part New Age jazz, part New Age Latin. It's

a variety of things; she calls it "eclectic" herself. A collection of her

songs was released late last year; her debut album is called April Storm .

The singer-songwriter-pianist (and teacher), who records on her own Ohklectic

Records, will be performing at The Gazebo, which is located in front of the

town's community center/municipal building. Performances are at 2 pm each day.

The latest in late-night bad TV: Terry Bradshaw's talk show, "Home Team." How

do some of these people get their own shows, I ask you! Until next week, I'll

be seeing you... on the road.
