Frost And Caro Capture France For Ballard Park

RIDGEFIELD — Newtown residents and photographers, the husband and wife team of Rita Frost  and Frank Caro will be among the 75 artists and craftsmen exhibiting at the annual Ballard Park Serendipity Art Show. This year’s one-day event will be Sunday, August 19, from 10 am to 4 pm.

The Caros drove over 3,000 miles along with their four cameras, seeking unique shots of architecture, food and flowers while in Burgundy, Provence, Brittany and Paris recently.

“The last time we went to Brittany, Frank proposed,” Ms Frost said. “I wondered what would happen this time.

“Unfortunately, I landed in the hospital for two days, the result of an infected cut,” she continued. “It didn’t stop us from taking over 1,000 photographs. It took four days to select the ones we want to exhibit. They must have special, poetic qualities.”

The couple are former Ridgefielders and now live in Newtown. Their presentation for the Ballard Park show will include photos of France as well as their award-winning photographs of Italy, Israel and Ridgefield.

The couple is scheduled to have a two-person exhibition of their works at C.H. Booth Library in Newtown.
