Renegades Finally Stopped

The Newtown Renegades were eliminated from the Cal Ripken 9U New England Regional Tournament with a 10-4 semifinal round loss to Seacoast, NH, in Hebron on August 8.

Strong pitching and solid defense from New Hampshire held the Renegades to just eight hits. Joey Rios had two base hits, and Josh Taylor, John Godino, Dillon Robinson, and Will Swift each singled. Matt Bradbury also had two hits for the Renegades against New Hampshire.

The Renegades’ defensive effort was highlighted by third baseman Shaine Luzietti who snagged a pop fly in foul territory for an out in the second inning. Taylor, Swift, and Rios combined for pitching duties on the mound for the Renegades.
