Please join us in celebrating the loving life of Linda Fagan Manna, who passed away on August 16, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 25, 1946, in New York City to LeRoy and Estelle Fagan, Linda moved to South Salem, N.Y., when she was 12 years old. On her family’s sprawling farm, Linda found a passion for horseback riding, the country, and the hard-working farm life.

Linda’s love for fast muscle cars led her to meet her husband, Bob, in 1967, when she sped past him in her 1966 Chevelle convertible, turning heads with her long, blonde, flowing hair; and it was love at first sight! They married on August 25, 1968, and have enjoyed 53 blissful years and three wonderful children together. The family moved to Newtown in 1975, and Bob and Linda began creating Windy Hill Farm, which has grown and evolved into a charming country estate. Linda’s passion for gardening kept both her and Bob busy over the years, and she eventually went on to begin her own business, Newtown Country Mill, where she put her antique eye to work offering antique collectibles, hand-crafted woodwork, and furniture, along with primitive furnishings, which she also enjoyed in her own home. During her 15-plus years as a Newtown businesswoman, she was blessed to meet many of her closest, lifelong friends. Linda was extremely proud when her business was featured in the 2010 Holiday Edition of A Primitive Place magazine.

Anyone who knew Linda saw how much she enjoyed working with her hands, creating things, decorating her home, cooking homemade meals with the bounties from her gardens, and, most importantly, spending time with her family.

Linda was predeceased by her parents at a young age, as well as her older sister, Millie, who passed away at just 34 years old from breast cancer.

Linda will be truly missed by her husband, Robert, Sr; her son, Lee, and his wife, Jennifer; her daughter, Michelle, and her husband, Brendan; her son, Robert, Jr, and his wife, Necole; her six treasured grandchildren, Brian, Cole, Sean, Michael, Connor, and Melinda; her older brother, Gary; many loving nieces and nephews; and her beloved friends and extended family.

Linda wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to Michelle Grand, LMT, who brought extreme joy and relief to Linda, as well as to the Regional Hospice of Danbury.

Linda has requested no calling hours and a private service at St Rose.

Donations can be made in her name to the FAITH Food Pantry or to Regional Hospice of Danbury.
