John Hamilton Hiteshew

John Hamilton Hiteshew, 53, of Newtown, died of an aneurysm, August 22, at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Staten Island, N.Y.

 Mr Hiteshew was educated in the Newtown School System, and was working on a degree in sports management through Ashford University.

He was a swimming coach for the Oxford Parks and Recreation Department and a golf instructor for Newtown Adult Education.

He was the son of Leila (Johnson) Hiteshew of Newtown and the late Merhl Hiteshew. Two children, Tara Ann and Christopher Hamilton Hiteshew; a sister, Karin Helsel; two brothers, David, and his wife Virginia, and Steve, and his wife Kim; three nieces and a nephew; and his longtime friend Teri McCusker survive Mr Hiteshew. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan, in 2001.

A funeral service will take place Sunday, August 26, at noon, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, with the Rev Jim Solomon officiating. Friends may call Sunday morning from 10 am to noon.
