The Newtown Public School District has announced there will be a three hour early dismissal on Wednesday, August 29.

The announcement was made in the afternoon on August 28.

The district also announced its preschool program is canceled for August 29, and high school sports will be held indoors or after 6 pm in the evening.

The planned Newtown Middle School Open House for parents will still be held in the evening on August 29, at 6 pm at the school, 11 Queen Street.
