SCORE, or Service Corps of Retired Executives, will be hosting several webinars over the month of September. Interested parties can sign up for the workshops through C.H. Booth Library’s website, chboothlibrary.org. All webinars start at 1 pm, making it the perfect lunch and learn opportunity.

The first webinar is Thursday, September 4. This webinar is all about “Budget-Friendly Branding: Creating a High-Value Brand for Less.” Attendees will learn how to create a professional, high-value brand using low-cost tools and simple DIY marketing strategies. SCORE presenters will explore the top marketing trends shaping 2025 and demonstrate how to make them work for a business. The presenters will show practical ways to use AI to save time, create better content, personalize marketing, and adapt to changing customer habits to stay competitive. This session is designed for budget-conscious small business owners, providing clear, step-by-step actions to strengthen a brand, reach more customers, and grow the business without overspending.

The next webinar is Tuesday, September 9, “Save Time with AI — How to Create Videos, Emails, Social Posts and More Faster.” One of SCORE’s expert AI presenters will demonstrate how to use AI-powered tools to generate fresh ideas, write compelling copy, and boost visibility with AI SEO (search engine optimization). The presenter will also go over how to refine AI-generated material so it stays professional and authentic to the business.

The first tax webinar of the season will be on Thursday, September 11, “IRS Tax Tips for Entrepreneurs — Tools to Save Time and Stay Compliant.” SCORE will bring in IRA specialists to help small business owners understand what they need to handle business taxes effectively. Presenters will go over how to use IRA online systems to make managing taxes easier and faster. Attendees will learn how to access the Small Business Tax Center, set up and use IRS Online Accounts, and take advantage of secure electronic filing and payment options.

The next tax-based webinar will be on Tuesday, September 16. This webinar is all about “Year-End Tax Preparation — Opportunities to Reduce Your Overall Tax Burden.” SCORE’s presenter for this webinar will explain the latest updates in plain language, including provisions from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). Attendees will get a clear picture of what is changing for 2025, what deadlines and reporting requirements to be aware of, and where opportunities may exist to reduce the overall tax burden.

The next three webinars are all about growing a business and using smart marketing strategies to retain a loyal customer base. The first of those three is scheduled for Thursday, September 18, “Grow Your Customer Base — How to Create Offers They Can’t Refuse.” In this webinar, SCORE will walk attendees though a simple, repeatable framework for crafting an irresistible offer. From identifying a target market to telling a story, business owners will learn how to connect with what their prospects are thinking and create offers that make people want to say “yes.”

With the holiday season fast approaching, SCORE is prepared and ready to help small businesses with the “Holiday Marketing Strategies to Sleigh the Year’s Biggest Sales Opportunity” webinar on Thursday, September 25. The holiday season is the biggest sales opportunity of the year, but without a plan, it can quickly become overwhelming. From social media to email campaigns, the right strategy can help businesses stand out, attract more customers, and boost sales during the busiest shopping months. A presenter will show attendees how to create a simple holiday marketing plan that saves time and drives results, how to map out a content calendar, craft engaging campaigns, and leverage the latest 2025 holiday shopping trends to connect with customers and make this the most successful season yet.

The last SCORE webinar of September is Tuesday, September 30. “Get Clients on Instagram — How to Build a Community That Buys” will show attendees how to build and grow an engaged Instagram community. Business owners will discover how to use comments, posts, and DMs to connect authentically with the ideal clients, earn their trust, and turn conversations into sales. Presenters will show real-world examples, practical prompts, and a handy checklist.

SCORE webinars continue into October, with the last one on Thursday, October 9. “AI: Productivity & Time Management” will go over the diverse applications of AI, and guide attendees through practical prompt engineering techniques, ethical AI use, and strategic insights to boost branding and drive future growth.

Women And Money Roundtable Webinar

Though not a SCORE webinar, C.H. Booth Library is also hosting the “Women and Money Roundtable: How to Make Sense of Today’s Financial Markets” on Wednesday, September 10. Julia Strayer, a wealth management advisor and senior vice president of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, and Liz Maccarone, senior financial advisor also with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, will lead a lively and informative discussion on today’s financial markets and how they might fit into other portfolios.

Another roundtable is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15.
