Holly Dawn (Rowland) Mattegat, 46, passed away on the morning of August 27, 2022, surrounded by her family, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Mo. She was born December 3, 1975, in Columbia, Mo. Holly had been fighting her second battle against breast cancer for nearly three years when the Lord called her home. She displayed both strength of will and character, and though she struggled, she was perpetually optimistic, a beacon of hope for those around her.

Holly was a graduate of Forsyth High School and held degrees in AgriBusiness and Animal Science from College of the Ozarks and the University of Missouri-Columbia. She had a passion and aptitude for working with animals, especially horses. Holly was incredibly talented in many ways and loved to share her talents with others. She made many beautiful cakes and cookies for family and friends over the years. Her artistic talent turned into a gift for graphic design. Many of her original designs have been shared through T-shirts, mugs, and other gifts; and her design skill is what became her professional passion, leading her to work for design departments/companies in both Forsyth, Mo., and Fort Worth, Texas.

Holly and her husband, William Mattegat, were married on April 12, 2002. They have two wonderful children, Alexandra (17) and Ethan (14). Holly followed Will to Germany, where he was stationed with the United States Army, and their daughter Alex was born there. Holly was a devoted wife and mother and supported her husband and children in all their endeavors. She was an active member of the support group for firefighters in Forsyth, where Will currently serves. They are current residents of Cedarcreek, Mo.

Holly was a Christian and had a sweetness of spirit, a true heart of gold, was generous and nurturing, and will be greatly missed by so many.

Holly was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Tom Toler; father-in-law, George Mattegat; and grand-nephew, Coleman Shirley.

She is survived by her parents, Lyle and Glenda (Gourley) Rowland; husband, William Mattegat; daughter, Alexandra; son, Ethan; mother-in-law, Carol Mattegat; brother, Paul Toler (wife Lisa); sisters, Kimberly (Toler) Reese (husband Sonny), Laura (Rowland) Burton (husband Randy), Tomi Lynn Toler, and Katy (Toler) Butler (husband Robby); numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins; and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Cedar Creek Volunteer Fire Department, 6981 State Highway M, Cedar Creek MO 65627, or Taney County 100 Club, PO Box 6091, Branson MO 65627, would be greatly appreciated.

Visitation is Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 10 to 11 am, at New Vision General Baptist Church, 179 Church Camp Road, Taneyville, Mo. The Funeral Service will follow at 11 am. Burial will also be on August 30 and take place at Brown Cemetery, Highway M, Cedarcreek, Mo.
