DAR Begins Fall Season

NEW MILFORD — The Roger Sherman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold their first meeting of the fall season on Tuesday, September 12, at 11 am in Trinity Lutheran Church’s Fellowship Hall, 107 Kent Road (Route 7 North).

The chapter will present the church and its pastor with an American flag from VFW Auxiliary 1672, and will donate the flagpole and stand to the church.

Following a box lunch, Robert Berthelson will present a slide presentation at 1 pm entitled “From Tea Party to Independence: Springtime of the American Revolution.” This documentary summarizes the events of the first year of the American Revolution and highlights such military and political figures as Gov Jonathan Trumbull, General Putnam, Roger Sherman, and Ethan Allen. The program received the award of merit from the Connecticut League of Historical Societies and the certificate of commendation of the American Association of State and Local History.

The program is free and open to the public. Those who plan to attend or need more information may call Jennie Rehnberg at 860/354-6840.
