Independents At The Parade
Independents At The Parade
To the Editor:
We are looking forward to marching in this yearâs Labor Day Parade. This is our first major event as candidates for the new Independent Party of Newtown. Weâre excited to have the chance to see old friends and new supporters, as well as to have opportunity to greet those of you we donât know so you can become familiar with us as candidates and with the new Independent Party of Newtown.
During the parade, we invite all Newtowners to stop by 4 Main Street (across the street from the police station) to obtain a copy of our campaign platform and a freeze pop.Â
If you cannot stop by to chat at the Labor Day parade, please feel free to call us at 203-313-4402. Weâll be glad to schedule a time to speak with you by telephone. We also are available to come to your home to meet with you and your neighbors, or to speak at a meeting of your organization or community group. You can also send us your thoughts and ideas via email to wecan@independentpartyofnewtown.com.
We will be hosting a series of events during the fall election campaign, which we will be announcing in the near future. We hope many of you will be able to attend some of these events so that we can jointly share our views on the issues. We want to identify how we can best work together to create a long-term vision for our community and then implement it in an efficient, cost effective and timely mannerâsomething that the current administration is failing to do.
You can also get to know us by going to our website: independentpartyofnewtown.com. Our campaign platform will be available on the website on September 3.
Many of you have commented that there is never a real choice when it comes to voting for candidates in local elections. This year, however, Newtown voters will have a distinct choice between a current administration that has turned a deaf ear to the majority of our community and a slate of candidates offered by IPN who are committed to better long-range planning, running an open government and listening to your concerns and opinions.
We look forward to meeting all of you during the course of this campaign and being given the opportunity to earn your votes.
Sincerely,
The Candidates of the Independent Party of Newtown
