Doris F. Johnson

Doris F. Johnson, 85, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Gordon V. Johnson, died August 29, in her home. She was born August 31, 1926, to John and Adele Harries Hinck.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by her loving son and two daughters, Gordon J. Johnson, and wife Susan, of Newtown, Barbara J. Matey, and husband Lloyd, of Oxford, and Nancy A. Goldstein, and husband Stuart, of Dunbarton, N.H.; a brother William Collins, and wife Anita; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Adele Sperka and Mary Krivensky.

Mrs Johnson was a lifelong and active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church; she taught Sunday school, served on the Altar Guild, and enjoyed bowling with the church league. She was formerly a member of the PTA.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, September 1, at 10am, meeting directly in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 5995 Main Street, Trumbull, with the Rev Emil Witschy, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds. Friends may call Friday, August 31, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
