Riverside Road

Police report that while using radar speed-measuring equipment on Riverside Road, near Cherry Street, about 11:45 am on August 29, they determined that motorist Jessie Lee Thomas, 26, of 37 Alpine Circle was driving 40 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone, so they stopped Thomas to investigate.

Police said they charged Thomas with traveling unreasonably fast and with driving under suspension. Police said they released Thomas on $100 bail for a September 12 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Wrecker Mishap

Anthony Urena, 34, of New York City, who was operating a 2005 International wrecker, was parked in a residential driveway at 75 Marlin Road at about 9:17 pm on August 25, and was loading an unspecified vehicle onto the wrecker, when the wrecker’s emergency brake failed, police said.

The wrecker, which had the vehicle attached to it, then rolled backwards and struck a garage door, moderately damaging the garage, police said.

There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
