James A. Marron, Jr, 72, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on August 25, 2022, after a brief illness. He had recently resided at Newtown Rehabilitation Center.

The son of Margaret Sullivan and James A. Marron, Jim was born July 8, 1950, and raised in Norwalk. He was the eldest of four.

With a passion for outdoor sports, Jim spent many hours boating and fishing on Long Island Sound. He was an active member of the Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport, where he participated in sailboat racing. He loved fly-fishing, hunting, and cooking. He studied art and art restoration, devoting himself fully and meticulously to this pursuit.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Emily Colette Marron (David) Howard, son James Michael Marron, and grandchildren, Willem and Eliza Howard, all of Newtown. He is also survived by three sisters: Patricia Winter of Chester, Jane Marron of East Haven, and Eileen Marron of Aurora, Ill.; a nephew, Matthew Marron; a niece, Maggie Damato; and three grand-nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Burial will be at St John’s Cemetery in Norwalk on September 8, 2022, at 11 am.
