Occupation: I am an RN and Assistant Nurse Manager of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Westchester Medical Center back in New York where I grew up. In our level four NICU, we provide critical care for some of the tiniest and sickest newborns in the region.

Family: We are a family of four. My husband of 10 years is Henry. We have two beautiful children together: Olivia is 7 and our newest addition, Henry Anthony, is 9 1/2 months.

Pets: We have an 11-year-old cat named Pumpkin. She’s the best.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We’ve been here in Newtown for four years now and love it up here.

What do you like to do in your free time? With the little one, I don’t have too much free time, but I do love to spend time outside, wherever I am. I enjoy listening to good music, singing, and always love a good game of cornhole with friends.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? Without a doubt, my mother has been the greatest influence in my life. She has been through so much in her life and is the strongest woman I know.

Who is your favorite musical artist? I don’t quite have a single favorite musical artist. I love all kinds of music, especially pop, country, and anything with a good beat to dance to or that is fun to sing to.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? To always live life to the fullest, like there’s no tomorrow because tomorrow is never promised.

What is something you cannot live without? I couldn’t live without pasta! It’s my favorite food, by far. Those who know me, know that I love to eat!

What is your proudest accomplishment? My children are most definitely my proudest accomplishment.

What is a meal/recipe your family has passed down to you? My mother’s German potato salad is definitely a family favorite. Mmm now I’m hungry!

What is a tradition your family does that is important to you? Christmas Eve dinner is always a tradition we look forward to every year. We are part Italian, so we do a big Italian “7 fishes” dinner along with pasta and lots of other delicious food, followed by dessert, a visit from Santa for the kids, and then opening some gifts around the fireplace. It’s a cherished time of the year for all.

What would you like The Newtown Bee to cover in the future? Prematurity awareness! Being a NICU nurse and a volunteer for March of Dimes, I strive to spread more community awareness about premature birth and things we can do to help these babies and their families.
