Hospital Offers Weight Training
WATERBURY â Weight-bearing exercise is an essential part of staying fit and healthy. Experts recommend two to three weight-bearing exercise sessions a week.
Waterbury Hospital is offering 10-week introductory programs called âTone Muscles and Fight Osteoporosis with Weight Training.â The first program is at 7:45 pm, Monday, September 25, and continues through December 12 (no class on November 14 or 21). The second class meets at 9 am, Tuesday, September 26, and runs through November 28.
Participants should bring a set of 2- to 5-pound weights to class and wear comfortable attire. The fee for the one-hour class, instructed by personal trainer Jim DeMeis, is $25. To register, call 203/573-6257.
