Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y., has announced the following Newtown students have earned degrees: Sarah Ashley Janisch, Bachelor of Science; and Branden John Roumanis, Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude.

Tara Meehan and Mercedes Ball, members of NHS Class of 2006, will begin studies this week at American University, Washington, D.C. Farley Miller, NHS Class of 2005, transferred to American, starting this week, also.

Celia Song, NHS Class of 2006 valedictorian, has been awarded a scholarship by DRS Technologies, Danbury. Celia, daughter of Zhiqiang Song and Yun Shen, will study engineering at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. DRS Technologies awards scholarships to children of employees. Celia’s father works for DRS.
