Five people tested their limits and their abilities this month during the seventh annual Fitness Boot Camp sponsored by Porco’s Karate Academy and run by Mike Porco Jr.

The camp ran for two weeks – from Tuesday, July 25, through Friday, August 4 – and boot campers met from 5:15 am to 6:45 every day. The camp took advantage of the diverse terrain and physical challenges of the Newtown High School sports complex and all participants became very accustomed to using the running track.

Silvia Porco, Bonnie Lundblad, Anne Marie Lohan, Ron Dufner and Lynn Lattanzio made the daily commitment.

The Fitness Boot camp is designed to challenge each individual’s athletic and physical ability by putting them through a rigorous regimen of activities. Activities ranged from mile runs, to hill climbs, ascending and descending stairs and the military barbed wire crawl amongst other drills.

All participants are required to partake in all activities while pushing themselves to keep up with the pace but remain conscience of their own limits.
