George DeLorenzo, Jr, 73, husband of Elisa (DiCapua) DeLorenzo of Nunnawauk Meadows, Newtown, died unexpectedly August 29 in Danbury Hospital.
He was born in New York City on March 10, 1933, a son of the late George and Lena (Luciano) DeLorenzo.
During the Korean War, Mr DeLorenzo served in the US Army. He was a machinist for Seymour Specialty Wire until his retirement. A resident of Newtown for nine years, Mr DeLorenzo was a longtime resident of Derby.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Francis P. DeLorenzo and his wife, Mary, of Southbury; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Francis, II, Angelina, and Luciano DeLorenzo. Six brothers and two sisters also survive him.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 1, at 8 pm, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment will be in Mt St Peter Cemetery, Derby, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home on Friday from 3 to 5 pm and from 7 to 9 pm.
