Michael Anthony Feher

Community Leader In Monroe

Michael Anthony Feher, 66, of Monroe, died August 24 with his loving family at his side. Mr Feher was born in Bridgeport to Joseph and Elizabeth Benko Feher, and was a longtime Monroe resident.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Jo-Anna Hall Feher of Monroe; two loving daughters, Cynthia L. Talbot and her husband, Andrew, of Newtown, and Kristen Feher of Troy, Penn.; a brother, Joseph Feher and his wife, Kay, of Newtown; a sister, Joan Morgan of Litchfield; and several nieces and nephews. His brother, Paul Feher, predeceased him.

Mr Feher graduated from New Haven College and Connecticut State Technical Institute. He was a US Air Force veteran who served his country from 1957 to 1962. A technician for O’Keefe Controls Co. for more than ten years, Mr Feher was very active in the Monroe community where he served in the following appointed offices: the Monroe Economic Development Commission, the Monroe Route 25 Expansion Committee, and the Monroe Town Hall Expansion and Renovation Committee. He held many elected offices including the Monroe Planning and Zoning Commission, the Monroe Town Constable, the Monroe Democratic Town Committee, and chairman of Nominating and Vacancy Committee. He also served as a State of Connecticut Justice of the Peace.

Mr Feher was a member of the American Legion Post 200 and the Masonic Temple Washington Lodge 19 AF & AM. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener.

Services were held August 28 at the United Church of Christ, Bridgeport. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.
