School Board Q&A On NHS Expansion

The Newtown Board of Education will host a High School Expansion Project Question and Answer session for the public on Tuesday, September 5, at 7:45 pm, in the library at Reed Intermediate School.

The high school, built to hold 1,600 students, currently has 1,687 enrolled. The proposed “Option F” would add 92,407 square feet, which includes expanding the gymnasium. This would create a new ninth grade wing with classrooms, labs, cafeteria and warming kitchen. Fletcher Thompson is the architectural firm that has prepared “Option F.”
