Photographs by Marleen Cafarelli taken during the first four Newtown Arts Festivals are the focus of a new exhibit at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.Ms Cafarelli has been the official photographer of the arts festival since Newtown Cultural Arts Commission launched it in 2012. The festival is now in its fifth year.

Located in the showcase outside the Children's Department, the exhibit, a collaboration between the library and Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, went on view August 29 and will remain in place through Wednesday, October 5. It can be viewed during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am-8 pm; Friday, 11 am-5 pm; Saturday, 9:30 am-5 pm; and Sunday (after September 11), 12-5 pm.

The exhibit, according to Ms Cafarelli, includes "some of my favorite photos created with an 'artsy twist.' They are representative of the wonderful creativity shown by so many at the Newtown Arts Festivals."

Along with her photos are graphic representations of all the activities occurring in September during the 2016 Newtown Arts Festival.
