Former Underwood Repairman

Edward T. Johnson, 87, husband of 61 years to the late Helen Brower Johnson, died August 27 at Ashlar Nursing Home in Newtown.

He is survived by his sons, Paul Johnson and his wife, Helene, of Monroe, and Donald Johnson of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kim Bockover of Riverview, Fla., Paul B. Johnson of Hamden, and Jill Moore of Branford; and one great-granddaughter.

Mr Johnson was a life-long resident of Connecticut, living in Bridgeport, Stratford, and most recently in Bella Vista in New Haven. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Underwood Corp in Bridgeport and Business Machines Company as a repairman.

Funeral services took place at the Porto Funeral Home, East Haven, August 31. Interment will be private.
